try alittle harder to be alittle better

I got alot of this this weekend.....Hold me GeGe!! I spent most of the weekend at my daughter's house. She had free ASU football tickets Saturday and Sunday she was so sick she coudln't get out of bed. GeGe to the rescue. I really enjoyed myself. Sometimes I am better at the grandma thing then other times. Felt relaxed and not uptight. After living on my own for a while I forget how chaotic lots of kids can be. It sometimes makes me have high anxiety, but not this past weekend. I made the intention to stay in the moment and to enjoy them, and I did.

I walk Saturday morning, though not a long ways, my usual 3 miles. Then it was such a glorious morning Sunday that I went for a long bike ride. It was pretty windy. By the time I got home my legs were really shakey...felt good.

I hopped on the scales at my daughter's house over the weekend and I think I might be happy at weigh in tonight. Her scales had me down to 201.8 over the weekend, but the offical weight will be the one tonight. I feel lighter! I can now fit into and zip the jeans my daughter gave me. Still alittle to low-rise for my taste, can you say muffin top...I knew you could! Plus I am able to zip the dress that my weight loss friend gave me a couple of weeks ago. Can wait to wear that one! Still alittle too tight, but not for long!

Oh, I almost forgot. I am going to go see U2 and Blackeyed Peas this month. A friend called and asked if I wanted a ticket, I said HELL YES! In other good news, it looks like my sister is coming from Japan for the party. I love it! Plus she and her family will be here at Christmas this year. I haven't had Christmas with a member of my extended family since my mom and dad passed.

I rode to work this morning and was waving to everyone (of course). The best smile I got back this morning was from a leather faced homeless guy lugging a 6 pack. I waved and said hi and it was return with the a big toothless grin! Poor guy. He was just so happy not to be invisable for a minute. Makes me grateful for my own smile!

Had a very spiritually uplifting weekend as well. It was my church's world wide conference this past weekend. Went away from the experience with the desire to try alittle harder to be alittle better.

Let's make it a great week!! Keep the mood and the food real

  1. Oh, Dana,

What an uplifting post! U2? Hell yea. I'm green with envy. I'm so happy for you. It's so cool that your sister is coming from Japan. That's beyond wonderful!

I also love your comment about the homeless man being invisible. I try to treat all humanity with respect, but I fall very short at times. Thank you for the reminder - to be gracious and grateful. To try a little harder to be a little better.

    Hugs!
