Let's talk, self talk.

I watch the show Everybody Loves Raymond. The wife calls the hubs an Idiot all the time. I can't even imagine what it would be like to have someone call me an idiot, and then have to live with them. (former life not included) Then this morning I was suppose to not eat or drink anything for lab work this morning. I found myself calling myself an idiot 3, count'em 3, times! WTFREAK? Yep, you Idiot, you're not suppose to....fill in the blank. THREE TIMES.

Hello....I live with me and am calling myself that. So today my goal is to be more mindful of what I am telling me. I am going to focus on the fact that I am capable of doing good things. Damn good things. I just figured it out that I have walked more then 75 miles in a month. WHAT??? That's right! 3 miles a day times 25....as a good cushion for error.....equals 75 miles. I am so damn proud of that I could spit! I already cried...lol..... boob that I am.

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. A Mormon. I watched what they call a Mormon Message this morning that I CAN NOT say enough about. Just what I needed....I hope you will take a minute and watch the video. Maybe it's just what you need too. Bring a hankie. It can be viewed on youtube or here http://lds.org Your Never Alone.

Keep the mood and the food real.......watch how you treat you!

  2. Hmm. God is SO trying to tell me something. This is the second post I've read today that deals with the way we talk to (and about) ourselves. So I'm gonna grab a hankie and go watch your vid!

  3. 75 miles is awesome! Your monthly totaly is far ahead of my FTMs. Way to go.

One of my goals is to improve my relationships, starting with the one I have with myself. I really do believe it all starts there.

You are doing such great things. I'm very happy for you. Awesome.

  4. My gosh, 75 miles in a month?!? That's incredible - you should be proud!!!

I agree with the self-flagellation...we wouldn't do this to our friends, yet we so easily do it to ourselves. Good for you for catching yourself and stopping!

  5. 75 miles is absolutely amazing! WOWOWOW!!!! Congrats!

I have called my husband an idiot in my head--when he's done idiotic things. I'm sure he's done the same to me. I've never said it out loud, though. I really try to watch the self talk, but I throw out some negative messages from time to time. Thanks for the reminder to be mindful.

The video was very powerful. Thanks for sharing.

The message at the very end of the video--we remember all affected, those who died *and* those who lived--that was very powerful. I liked that very much. I think sometimes we focus on the tragedy itself, and forget there survivors and how difficult their path has been. This man was a shining example of prevailing.

  6. I watched the 9/11 one. It is very powerful, the one I am talking about is Your Never Alone. About the woman that ran the Boston Marathon.

Dang it I wish I was not a Computer Dummy! I would just link it up here.

  7. Walking 75 miles in a month is amazing! You are such an inspiration. I can't watch the video just now (I'm at work) but I'm going to give it a look tonight.

Regardless, it's wonderful you've found something that gives you solace and peace.

  8. We are always our own worst critic. It's learning to love yourself and be easier on yourself that's the hardest, I think. And 75 miles in a month--wow!

  10. Thanks for commenting on my blog! I keep saying it over and over, but I just feel so fortunate to have so many people checking in on me and holding me accountable. Way to go on the 75 miles... I would love to be able to say I did that one day!
