Now....GO!

Hello there~  Yep, I am still alive and well.  I just writing a short post get get myself back into the routine of posting more often.  I have got some inspiration from my friend over at Shrink to Fit.  She has loss 133 lbs on Medifast.  I don't think I want to do that, but I do want to reign in my eating and what I eat.  I know that a lot of my depression and aches and pain are food related.  I am what I eat :)

I want to start walking again.  It's hot as hell out there, but I really need to do it for, again, my mental and physical health.  I wish I had a walking partner, but never the less, I will walk.

I am planning some big changes.  Moving in with my kids.  School in January.  New beginnings.  Maybe a new (old) me.  I really want to change.....but I am willing to do the work??  That's what has to happen.  I will make myself a deal.  Start small.  I will track my food, I just downloaded an app :) I am kind of excited to use it.  I will just try to make better choices.  I will drink more water.  I will walk 30 mins. 4 times a week.  Ok....now GO!!!

  1. Hi Dana! Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog and for the shout out :) Starting with small changes is a good plan. I started by walking my dog everyday just barely a mile. From there I tried my son's elliptical for 5 minutes a day until I could work up to 15 min. And tracking is key! I use My Fitness Pal and it helps on those days when I take a few too many bites of this and that :)

You sure have a lot of changes coming up. With all that family around, maybe you'll have a walking partner.

You can do this. You are worth it! Stick to your plan no.matter.what.

  2. The next right thing, that's all this is. Just do the next good-for-you thing. You can do this. I'm so excited for your move - I know that you will enjoy having your family so close - and think what a great example you can set for your g-kids about being active. You can do gigi play-outs like Miz does with her kiddo!

  4. I'm all for making changes when we need them. Having family with you may be helpful. I have found that a support group of some type helps with the weight loss and staying on track. My best to you as you and your "new beginnings." Take care...

  8. I can relate so well: "I know that a lot of my depression and aches and pain are food related."

So I wish I could better explain this recent self-destructive streak of mine - but good for you, you've got a plan, start small & work up from there!

  9. Sounds like a great plan Dana :) I can vouch for the depression, aches and pains being food related too. It's always good to give ourselves those self talks :) Here's to a good week, month, year for both of us :)

  10. Hi Dana - It was so good to read your comment on my blog! I've also been out of the blogging routine for a bit and am pondering getting back to it a little more.

Just wanted to tell you I'm sort of in the same place as you with wanting to clean up my food act again. I'm also just a couple pounds below you, which represents an 8 pound gain since my early July vacation. Why is this such an ongoing issue??

Also - you CAN find recovery. As you said, if I can do it, Lord knows anybody can! Hang in there.

  14. If you are living active lifestyle and working on your shape, diet should always come together with trainings. In order to plan both, check out militarygradenutritionals.com/blog. For me it's an excellent source of information on fitness and right nutrition. I've learned there a lot of things which helped me organize my trainings and eating habits.
